Naomi Faith Lipper, 92, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away at 3:06 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2023 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa.

Naomi was born February 8, 1931 in Blandinsville, Illinois, the daughter of George Henry and Lola (Sevilla) Spainhower.

Naomi was a 1949 graduate of Blandinsville High School. She was a homemaker and took pride in raising her children. She enjoyed providing childcare for many families within the community and especially enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She was a member of the LaHarpe American Legion Auxiliary, LaHarpe Union Church and the Blandinsville Christian Church.

Survivors include seven children: Frank (Annette) Shoemaker Jr. of Wheaton, Illinois, Lindsay (Debbie) Shoemaker of LaHarpe, Paula (Rob) Blythe of Dallas City, Illinois, Marvin Shoemaker of Charleston, South Carolina, Dean Shoemaker of Winfield, Iowa, Ken Shoemaker of LaHarpe and Reva Jones of Los Angeles, California; fifteen grandchildren: Amanda, Alex and Charlie Shoemaker, Justice and Jeremy Shoemaker, Jared Blythe, Bethany Swedlund, Taylor Blythe, Nathan Shoemaker, Lindy Finke and Zachary, Caleb and Julie Shoemaker and Will Calderwood and JL Calderwood; 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Velma Banks and Louise Kempher; one niece: Roberta Schurtz; two nephews: Phillip Kempher and Bob Banks and one granddaughter: Lyndsie Blythe.

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe, where the family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m.

The funeral service for Naomi will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Banks & Beals in LaHarpe with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will follow in LaHarpe Cemetery.
