Murl Eugene Johnson, age 78 of rural Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away at 8:59 a.m. Friday November 16, 2018 at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. He was born April 10, 1940, the son of Max and Stella Ingrahm Johnson. On July 10, 2015, he married Lois Baker.

Mr. Johnson was employed by the railroad, retiring after 40 years. He also raised farm animals for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Lois, one daughter, Michelle Platz, two sons, Eric and Patrick Johnson, eight grandchildren, one sister and several half brothers and sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother in infancy, and a previous wife, Barbara Jean (Buck) Johnson.
