Mrs. Earlene Mueller, 81, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 2:30a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, LaHarpe.

She was born March 6, 1933 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of Earl and Dehlia Huddleson Haynes. She first married Paul E. Yocum. She then married Thomas B. Mueller.

Earlene worked at the LaHarpe Hospital as a nurses aid for 17 years. She then worked at Dr. B.I. Muellers office for 22 years. Earlene was of the Protestant faith. Mrs. Mueller was an avid gardner and enjoyed growing flowers. She also enjoyed bird watching, fishing and reading. Earlene loved keeping up with her families lives, and never tired of hearing their stories.

She is survived by one son, David Yocum of Dallas City, IL, two daughters, Bonnie J. Yocum of LaHarpe and Cathy (Randy) Hensley of LaHarpe, one step-son, Steven (Melissa) Mueller of Byron, MN, two grandsons, one granddaughter and three step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Bell Olomon and Velma Hunt.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Burnside Christian Church, Burnside, IL, with Mark Nichols officiating. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Carnegie Public Library. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of LaHarpe is in charge of arrangements.
