Michael Timothy Bradley, 57, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away Friday, December 24, 2021 at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

Mike was born on October 21, 1964, the son of Harry and Kathleen M. (Peterson) Bradley. Mike met his future wife, Brenda McHenry, on a blind date in November of 1991. On July 1, 1995 they were married at the LaHarpe United Methodist Church.

Mike was a 1983 graduate of LaHarpe High School. Following high school he earned a degree as a Diesel Mechanic from Carl Sandburg College. He worked for fifteen years at Western Illinois University in Ground Maintenance, before retiring early due to health issues. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dallas City.

Mike loved fixing anything to do with vehicles. He also loved playing pool with family and friends in his Man Cave. He enjoyed raising steer calves for winter beef.

Although Mike and Brenda never had children of their own, they had many four legged children, their dogs. They adopted many from area shelters. Mike never went anywhere without his dogs with him. In 2016 he began to lose the use of his legs, that didn't stop him from working on vehicles. He was so independent that he often forgot he was chair bound.

Survivors include his wife: Brenda; three sisters: Mary (Doug) Norvell of Nauvoo, Illinois, Patricia (Joe) Plackett of Springfield, Illinois and Judy (Jeff) Stevenson of Nauvoo, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, one cat and one dog.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law: Curtis and Audrey McHenry and aunts and uncles.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe.

The funeral for Mike will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 3rd at Banks & Beals with Fr. Tom Szydlik officiating. Cremation will be entrusted to Banks & Beals following the service. Burial will be held at a later date in the Calvary Cemetery, Carthage, Illinois.
