Michelle Marie Olson-Ruiz, 57, passed away at home on October 9, 2026, leaving behind a family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Michelle was born June 5, 1969 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Ronnie L. and Sandra J.  (Good) Olson.

Michelle faced life’s challenges with strength and resilience. Her life was not defined by perfection, but by the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lasting impact she made on the people who knew and loved her. Like all of us, her life included challenges, but her story will continue through the lives of those she leaves behind.

Michelle found happiness in the outdoors and enjoyed anything that allowed her to get a little dirty. She loved camping, fishing, horses, and the rodeo. These activities brought her joy and reflected the adventurous spirit that made her who she was.

Michelle was preceded in death by her parents, Ronnie and Sandy Olson, and her grandparents. She is survived by her son, Sebastian Carey; her daughter, Raven Adams; her five grandchildren, Olajuwon, Noah, Leo, Xander, and Harper; her sister, Krista Johnson; and extended family who will cherish her memory.

To her children, she will always be Mom. To her grandchildren, she will always be Oma. To the family who loved her, she will forever remain a cherished part of their story.

Losing a mother is a loss that words can never fully express. There will be memories that bring smiles, moments that bring tears, and reminders of Michelle in the simplest things. Although her family must now learn to navigate life without her physical presence, the memories they share and the place she holds in their hearts will remain.

Michelle’s life reminds us that none of us are perfect and that what matters most is the love we leave behind. Her journey here has ended, but her memory will live on through her children, her grandchildren, her family, and the stories that will continue to be told about her.

She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
