Michael Alan Jacobs, age 65, of Carman, Illinois, passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at the University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. He was born August 2, 1956 in Burlington, IA, the son of Harry and Lillian Peterson Jacobs. On December 30, 1985, he married Lisa Renee Yakle in Fort Madison, Iowa.

Michael lived and worked in Alaska for many years, and for the past 30 years was a horse farrier, locally. He was a Scout Leader and was active at Camp Eastman, near Nauvoo. Mike was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed cookouts with family and friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a father figure to many area kids as they were growing up, and many still called him "Dad".

Survivors include his wife, Lisa, five children; Zachary Jacobs of Stronghurst, IL, Jared (Connie) Jacobs of Biggsville, IL, Elise (Brandon) Johnston of Lomax, IL, Michael Jacobs of Stronghurst, IL, and Lillian Jacobs of Lomax, IL, seven grandchildren; Brenna, Xavier, and Lizzie Johnston, Angel Oak, Layton Housman, Krisden Todd, and Carlee Restuccio, six great grandchildren, and siblings; Steve Jacobs, Karen Jacobs, and Richard Jacobs, all of Biggsville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother; Donald Jacobs, and one sister; Mary Jacobs.

Cremation rites are being accorded. A Celebration Of Life will be from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. Saturday September 4, 2021 at the home of Zachary Jacobs , 1043 State Route 94, Stronghurst, Illinois.
