Michael Patrick Clem, age 53, of Burlington, Iowa, passed away at 12:34 a.m. Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, Iowa. He was born May 24, 1968 in Burlington, the son of Phillip and Cookie Curtis Clem.

Mike was a1986 graduate of Burlington High School and attended Southeastern Community College in West Burlington. In 1993, he moved to Des Moines and began working and training as a chef. He was the former Executive Chef at the Drake restaurant in Burlington, The Metz restaurant in Des Moines, and most recently was a private chef for Greek House Chefs at Iowa State University in Ames. While cooking at The Metz, he served kings, queens, dignitaries, presidents and celebrities. One of his favorite memories was being able to cook for and visit with former television news anchor, Tom Brokaw.

Mike was an avid Seattle Seahawks fan. He loved cooking for his family and friends, and loved his children and fiancee very much.
Survivors include one son; John (Marissa Halsey) Clem of Carman, IL, one daughter; Abby Clem of Carman, IL, his fiancee; Jodie Moore of Burlington, IA, one sister; Michelle Clem of Burlington, IA, several nieces and nephews, including Samantha Segarra of Carthage, IL, and one great nephew; Oliver Miller of Carthage, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents.
