Merieta L. Merschbrock

Merieta L. Merschbrock, 76, of Paramount, California passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at her home.

She was born April 2, 1934 in Grandview, Iowa, the daughter of Charles H. and Opal L. Kite Pentecost.

She was raised in Fort Madison, Iowa and attended Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa. She lived in California for the past 25 years where she was an instructor at Central Nursing College in Los Angeles.

She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Bowers of Paramount, three sons, Donald Hendrix of Fort Madison, James Day of Paramount and Matt Smith of Edgewood, Texas, 9 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two sisters, Shirley Neff of Burlington and Wanita Lasserman of Fort Madison.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sons, Neal Hendrix and Chuck Messer.

Graveside services will be held at 11:15 A.M. Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. The family will meet with friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City.
