Mrs. Mary M. White, 95, of Macomb, Illinois, formerly of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 2:24 P.M. at the Countryview Care Center in Macomb.

She was born October 31, 1913 near Stronghurst, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Susan Washburn Wolford. On January 20, 1932 she married Hollis White in Monmouth, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2005.

She and her husband lived and farmed near Abingdon, Stronghurst, Terre Haute and Disco, Illinois. In her younger years she played on a traveling baseball team. She was a member of the Lomax Senior Citizens and a member and past president of the LaHarpe American Legion Auxiliary.

Surviving are four sons, Lawrence White of Bakersfield, California, Charles White of LaHarpe, Richard White of Tucson, Arizona and Robert White of Burlington, Iowa, two daughters, Patsy Gray of Abingdon, Illinois and Mary Lou Lovell of Peoria, Illinois, 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 brother, 4 sisters, and 1 great-grandson.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 4, 2009 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Revs. Tom Wright and Rick Walker officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 2:00 P.M. Saturday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday. A memorial fund has been established for the Harbor Lights Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
