Mary Anne Ruth (Gill), aged 91, passed away on July 22, 2024, in Fort Myers, Florida. Born on June 16, 1933, in La Harpe, Illinois to Charles and Anna Gill. She was a cherished member of her community, known for her love of family, her dedication to the farm, and her active participation in the Union Church and the La Harpe community.
Mary Anne spent her working years both as a farm wife and a banking clerk. Her faith played a significant role in her life, as she was a dedicated member of both Union Church in La Harpe, Illinois, and Faith United Methodist in Fort Myers, Florida.
Her hobbies included gardening and playing games, activities that brought her joy and relaxation. Mary Anne loved her family and her church. She also had a love of travel.
She is survived by her son, Martin Gleason (Julie)
Grandson, Scott Martin Gleason (Heather), and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Grant, and Grayson Gleason
Granddaughter, Emily Helling (Lucas), and great-grandchildren, Owen and Everly Helling
Granddaughter, Nicole Schumaker (Chuck); and great-granddaughter, Tatum Coyle.

Great grandchildren, Alexis and James Huston
Mary Anne was preceded in death by her daughters, Linda Ball and Kathleen Biggiam; her former husband, Glenn Gleason; her brother John Gill and her husband, Bud Ruth.
A private graveside service was held at LaHarpe Cemetery on October 19, 2024. The family suggests that contributions in memory of Mary Anne be made to the Union Church in La Harpe, Illinois.
The arrangements are being handled by Banks and Beals Funeral Home, La Harpe, Illinois.
