Mrs. Martha Mae Quesenberry, 83, of Niota, IL passed away at 10:02 PM Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, IA.

Martha was born on April 11, 1933 the daughter of Ralph and Helen Pfeiff Peel. On September 29, 1951 she married Clinton N. Quesenberry, Sr. in LaHarpe, IL. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2015.

Martha was a graduate of the former Dallas City High School. After school she began working for the Flora Thumb Restraunt in Niota. Later, she worked for the Greenwalds Grocery Store in Fort Madison, IA. Lastly, she worked for Sylvania for many years. She was an avid gardener and liked canning. She also enjoyed writing poetry.

Mrs. Quesenberry is survived by three children: Susan (Brad) Maddux of Blue Springs, MO, Clinton Kip (Heather) Quesenberry, Jr. of Keokuk, IA, Melissa Quesenberry of Fort Madison; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister: Valeria Johnson of Macomb, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers and three sisters.
A graveside service will be held in Harris Cemetery, near Dallas City, IL at 3:00 PM Monday, August 15, 2016, with Ron Fish officiating. No visitation is planned. In Lieu of flowers, Marthas family requests memorial be made to the Riverbend Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses, Montrose, IA.
