Mrs. Martha E. "Martie"(Runnells) Troute, 65, of Golden, IL passed away at 12:21am Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

She was born December 13, 1951 in Ottumwa, IA, the daughter of Ralph Jacob and Martha Ruth Steen Runnells. On January 18, 2013 she married Thomas L. Troute in Liberty, IL.

Martie was a 1970 graduate of the Wapello, IA High School. She loved crafting, sewing, cooking and especially, spending time with her family. She taught tole painting and was co-owner of 2 stores; Things To Do in Burlington, IA and River Bend Friends in Lomax, IL. She also worked for Great River Medical Center, Hy-Vee and G.E., all in Burlington.

She is survived by her husband, five children, Darin Anell of Burlington, IA, Amber (Jason) Dickey of Geneseo, IL, Chloe Ravenscraft, Sophie Ravenscraft and Johnny Ravenscaft, all of Terre Haute, IL, 2 grandchildren, Olivia and Carter Dickey, 2 step-daughters, Michelle (Mike) Caldwell of Palmyra, MO and Teresa (Kevin) Hickey of Quincy, IL, 4 step-grandchildren, 3 brothers, Jerry (Wanda) Eakins of Ft. Worth, TX, Jay (Sue) Runnells of Wapello, IA and Jack (Dee Ann) Runnells of Wapello, 1 sister, Nancy (Ron) Eakins Honson of Rockford, IL and 1 sister-in-law, Sharon Eakins of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joel Murphy, 2 brothers, Don Eakins and Charles Runnells and her parents.

Friends may call after 3:00pm Friday, September 22, 2017 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City where the family will meet with friends from 5:00 until 8:00pm, Friday.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00am Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Sheri Renner officiating. Burial will follow in Harris Cemetery, rural Dallas City. A memorial fund has been established for the Hope Lodge of St Louis, MO and Central Adams Sportsmen of Golden, IL.
