Marjorie Ann Goodwin, age 83, of Burlington, Iowa, passed away at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst, Illinois. She was born May 20, 1938, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Ray and Mary Phyllis Hayes Smith. She was married to Lanny Ford in 1956. She lost him to cancer in 1988. In 1989, she married Virgil Goodwin. They had four short years together before he died of cancer.

Marjorie was an accomplished artist, working in many mediums. Her best was with folk painting and dress designing, making her own fabrics and sewing her designs. She won many awards over the years. One of her favorite awards was the National Make It Yourself With Wool award. Marjorie also taught her skills to others in shops across America. She was also a motivational speaker and always encouraged others to be the best they could be.

Survivors include three sons: Jeffery (Lynette) Ford of Iowa City, IA, James (Jeanette) Ford of LaHarpe, IL, Jerry (Diana) Ford of White Swan, WA, one godson: Randy Jarvis of Stronghurst, IL, four grandchildren, one brother: Terry Ray Smith of Seguin, TX, and one sister: Marilynn (Smith) Haase of Burlington, IA.
