Obituary

Marion R. Bice

Mr. , 93, of Macomb, Illinois, formerly of LaHarpe, passed away Tuesday May 10, 2011 at the Wesley Village Health Care Facility in Macomb.

He was born November 13, 1917 near Blandinsville, Illinois, the son of Alpha and Clara Lou Kreig Bice. On August 16, 1942 he married Rella Hopkins in Lomax, Illinois.

Marion served in the Air Force from 1940 - 1946. He worked at Sylvania for 17 years, Mary Davier Hospital for 10 years and finished his working days at Housewright Contracting. He and his wife moved to Wesley Village in 2008.

Marion loved his country, his community, his family and above all his God. He was a member of the LaHarpe Christian Church where he served in many capacities. While residing in Macomb he attended the Maple Avenue Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Sheila Foltz, two sisters, Eileen Purdy and Eleanor (Clinton) Sears and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Mildred Sticklen, Lucille Rodeffer and Maxine Long and two brothers, Robert Bice and Ben Bice.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011 at the LaHarpe Christian Church with Donnie Case officiating. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until8:30 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe Christian Church, Maple Avenue Christian Church, Macomb, or Wesley Village, Macomb.
