Mrs. Marilyn Anne (Rinker) Thie, 80, of LaHarpe, IL died Monday March 12, 2012 in LaHarpe.
She was born July 29, 1931 in Colorado Springs, CO, the daughter of Carl and Dorothy Harrison Rinker. On January 10, 1952, she married Howard F. Thie in Colorado Springs. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2010.
She received her education degree from Iowa Wesleyan and her Masters Degree in Guidance Counseling from W.I.U. She taught grade school in Sperry, IA, Blandinsville, IL and Good Hope, IL for many years. She was a member of the LaHarpe Union Church.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Dr. Linda Thie of Punta Gorda, Florida and Angela (Jim) Painter of Goodfield, Illinois, 1 son Frederick Thie of LaHarpe, 3 grandchildren, Jameson Painter of Las Vegas, NV, Joe Painter of Westmont, IL and Lauren Painter of DeKalb, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother, Carl Rinker and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the LaHarpe Union Church with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the St. Johns Cemetery near Burlington. A memorial has been established for Make A Miracle. There will be no visitation. Banks & Beals Funeral home in LaHarpe is assisting with the arrangements.
