Marilyn Mae Jackson, 77, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 at Bickford of Macomb, Illinois.

Marilyn was born September 21, 1944 in LaHarpe the daughter of Lowell K. and Maxine (Ailes) Clover. In 1964, she married Duane McDowell. They later divorced. On February 14, 1987, she married Roger Jackson in LaHarpe.

She was a 1962 graduate of the LaHarpe High School. Following high school she attended Business School in Burlington, Iowa. Marilyn worked at JI Case in Burlington for a short time before becoming a stay at home mother and helping on the farm. She helped care for her father and later worked, for over 20 years, at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center, along with selling Mary Kay. She served on the LaHarpe City Council.

Mrs. Jackson attended the LaHarpe Union Church. She was a member of Sisters In Christ, Happy Helpers Group and Late Bloomers Garden Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her husband: Roger; three children: Jeff (Tracy) McDowell of LaHarpe, Phillip (Donna) McDowell of Elvaston, Illinois and Alison (Tyler) DeSotel of Carthage, Illinois; two step-children: Gary Jackson of San Antonio, Texas and Lori (Derrick Lander) Jackson of Cherry Valley, Illinois; ten grandchildren: Cade McDowell, Holly Mae (Gedney) Mosher, Austin, Summer and Mason McDowell, Marie, Kate, Nora DeSotel, Dylan (Jasmine) Hauck and Savannah Jackson; one grandson-in-law: Matt Paulsen and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three siblings: Sherry (Gary) Butler, Jeanette (Jim) Ford both of LaHarpe and Steven (Denita) Clover of Dallas City.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter: Alexis Paulsen.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, October 8, 2021 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Bruce Goettsche officiating. Burial will follow in the LaHarpe Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 7th a Banks & Beals, where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
