Marilyn L. Crabill, age 82, of Lomax, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at her daughter's home near Media, Illinois. She was born September 1, 1939, in Lomax, the daughter of Harold L. "Bud" and Katherine M. (Cook) Bowlyou. On December 21, 1958, she married Paul Cox in Lomax. They later divorced. On May 23, 1998, she married John R. "Chicky" Crabill in Lomax. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2015.
Marilyn was a 1957 graduate of Dallas City High School. She was employed for 45 years at Sheaffer Pen Company, retiring in 2002. She enjoyed crocheting, and made many afghans for her family and many friends. She also collected salt and pepper shakers, and had amassed over 6000 pairs over the years. Marilyn loved everyone, unconditionally, especially her family.
Survivors include one daughter: Paula (Randy) Bigger of Media, IL, three grandsons: Travis, Ryan, and Cody Bigger, all of Media, IL, eight great grandchildren: Kaleb Bigger, Makayla Grisham, & Aiden Mitchell, Cristian, Vivian, Raegan, & Cecilia Bigger, and Maverick Bigger, five great great grandchildren: Christopher, Khaleesi, Brently, Adalynn, and Lennox, two step-daughters: Tina Reaves and Tammy Crabill, one sister: Carolyn Thompson of Oquawka, IL, special daughters: Diana Doran, Penny Monroe and Kim Wyatt, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral for Mrs. Crabill will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2022 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, with Rev. Meredith Breuer officiating. Burial will follow in the Carman Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. at Banks & Beals. A memorial fund has been established for Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab in Stronghurst.
