Marie Anna Snelson, 84, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away at 2:10 A.M. Monday, May 26, 2008 in the Countryview Care Center in Macomb, IL.

She was born January 2, 1924 in Meppen, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Mary Menst Bick. On October 15, 1940 she married Willard D. Snelson in Bowling Green, Missouri. He preceded her in death in July 1992.

She worked as a nurses aid, school cook, and cleaned houses. She and her husband owned and operated a restaurant in Hardin, Illinois.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Bonnie (John) Ribardi of Morgan City, Louisiana, 3 sons, Jake (Mary) Snelson of LaHarpe, Illinois, William (Ruth) Snelson of Patterson, Louisiana and James (Norma) Snelson of Harvel, Illinois. 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 1 step grandson, 1 great great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband her parents, and 2 grandsons, 1 great granddaughter, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Pastor Larry Menschel officiating. Burial will be in the Laharpe Cemtery. Friends may call Thursday at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. until time of services. A memorial fund has been established for the Countryview Care Center.
