Mabel L. Roberts

Mabel L. Roberts, 95, of Pontoosuc, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 3:40 AM at the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center in LaHarpe.

She was born November 11, 1916 in Washburn, Wisconsin, the daughter of Joseph and Helma Swanson Cotty. On October 5, 1940, she married Clovis Roberts in Washburn. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1974.

Before entering the care center, Mabel lived with her daughter, Diane Sveback, in Pontoosuc for 10 years. Prior to that she lived in Silver Bay, Minnesota. She loved to play cards and bingo.

Surviving are 2 sons, Donald (Kathy) Roberts of New Hope, MN, and David (Valerie) Roberts of Mankato, MN, 2 daughters, Diane (Gary) Sveback of Pontoosuc, IL and Mary Jane (Tom) Lassonde of Cleveland, MN, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 sister, June Olson of Washburn, WI.

She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and her parents.

No services are planned. Burial will be in the Rieder Memorial Cemetery in Silver Bay, MN at a later date. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
