Lucille M. Walker, age 86 of Burlington, Iowa, formerly of Lomax, Illinois died at 9:45 p.m. Wednesday April 13, 2011 in the Great River Medical Center-Klein Unit in Burlington. She was born October 6, 1924 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Edgar and Wilma Foraker Workman. On July 11, 1941, she married Jack Junior Walker in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1981.

Lucille had been employed for many years at Sylvania Corporation in Burlington. She later worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Iowa, the Dallas City Housing Authority, and for Dr. Paul in Burlington. She was a member of the Lomax Christian Church.

Survivors include two daughters - Ruth Ann (Vernon) Henry of Burlington, Sue (Jack) Bartlett of Dallas City, Illinois, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, and two sisters - Myrl Wood of Burlington, and Florence Tharp of Arlington, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two sisters- Ruth Nessell and Julia Nicholas.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday April 18, 2011 in the Crane Cemetery near Lomax with Rev. Peggy Stott officiating. Friends may call from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. No family visitation is planned.
