G. Louise Stimpson, age 88, of Stronghurst, Illinois, passed away at 4:05 a.m. Saturday November 6, 2021 at her home. She was born February 16, 1933 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Samuel and May Waddell Shaffer. On December 29, 1950, she married Dale Stimpson. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1995.

Louise was a graduate of Burlington High School. Earlier in life, she had worked at Hy-Vee on Main Street in Burlington. She also worked for Henderson County during the flood of 1965, and later served on the Henderson County Election Board. She loved gardening, canning, and cooking, and especially loved watching her grandchildren's sporting events. She was a former member of the Burlington Eagles Club and had been an active member of the 1St United Church Of Christ of Burlington.

Survivors include one son: Tom (Mary Ann) Stimpson of Stronghurst, IL, one daughter: Susan (Robert) Harper of Denmark, IA, five grandchildren, two step grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son: Rev. Dale Stimpson, six brothers, three sisters, one grandson, and one great great granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday November 10, 2021 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
