Obituary

Lois Mae Spiker, 88, of Lomax, IL, formerly of Moline, IL passed away at 1:20 AM on Friday, December 5, 2014 at the Great River Hospice House, West Burlington, IA. She was born February 12, 1926 in Terre Haute, IL the daughter of Francis and Ila Iseminger Peasley. On September 7, 1947 she married Benjamin McIntire in Moline, IL. He preceded her in death on September 4, 1972. She later married Larry Spiker on November 8, 1975 and made her home in Lomax, IL.

Lois graduated with the class of 1944 from the Terre Haute High school. She then graduated from beauty school in Moline in 1946. Mrs. Spiker celebrated her life by listening to music, dancing, being a homemaker, crocheting, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Survivors include, her husband, Larry, 5 children, Steve (Tyyne) McIntire of Moline, IL, Vickie (Randy) McWhorter of Geneseo, IL, Christine (Richard) Hanson of Morton, IL, Lari Jo (Jeff) Smith of Smithshire, IL, and Traci (Shawn) McKoon of Biggsville, IL, 14 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and a daughter.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon Monday, December 8, 2014 at Banks and Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with a graveside service following in the Crane Cemetery, rural Lomax at 12:30 PM with Chaplain Dean Graber officiating. A memorial fund has been established for the Great River Hospice House.
