Lloyd Eugene Gene Breiner, 69, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of LaHarpe, IL, passed away at 6:52 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at the St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, IL.

Gene was born on May 2, 1946 in LaHarpe the son of Loyd L. and Nancy Moore Breiner.

Mr. Breiner attended Northwestern High School, Sciota, IL. He spent most of his life working construction and also farmed. He enjoyed riding four wheelers, hunting, fishing and especially the time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by two sons, Jessie (Eve) Breiner of Lakeland, FL, Adam (Angie) Breiner of Peoria, IL, one daughter, Nancy Nichols of Peoria, nine grandchildren, Adam Jr., Mateo, Malaki, Keeley, Jared, Samantha, Braxton, Jessica and Brendon, eleven sisters, Dorothy Plank, Pauline Jones, Virginia (Howard) Kerfoot, Wyvonne (Ike) Byers all of LaHarpe, Charlene Wilson, Lucille (Edward) Luton, Deanna Truelove all of Blandinsville, IL, Patricia (Lewis) Huston of New Boston, IL, Marilyn (Pat) Cahill of Burlington, IA, Jo (Don) Frye of Muscatine, IA and Joy Byers of Ottumwa, IA.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Lloyd E. Breiner Jr., two sisters, Louise Thompson and Thelma Figg and several Brother-In-Laws.

A celebration of life and graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, June 12, 2016 in the LaHarpe Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for his grandchildrens education.
