William H. Lionberger

William Howard (Bill) Lionberger, 84, of Colusa, Illinois, passed away at 6:22 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 at the Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa.

He was born on Feb.23, 1928, in Fort Madison, Iowa, the son of Frank and Leola Little Lionberger.

A 1946 graduate of Colusa High School, he had farmed all his life on the family farm near Colusa. He had a lifelong interest in history, genealogy, and gardening. He was a member of the Colusa United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sisters, Lois (Relly) Fowler of Stronghurst, IL, Elizabeth (William) Hull of Fort Myers, FL, and Clara Jean (Jerald) Boyd of La Harpe, IL; twelve nieces and nephews, Dale (Marybeth) Syfert, Keith (Linda) Syfert, Bill (Barb) Fowler, Carol (Richard) Leenerts, David (Christel) Fowler, Janice (Robert) Daugherty, Andrea (Greg) Newton, Sharon (Dan) O'Donnell, Alan (Carmen) Hull, Wendy (Wade) Swank, Diane (Steven) Painter, and Susan (Eric) Kuennen; nineteen great-nieces and great-nephews. .

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Betty (Robert) Syfert.

As per his wishes, cremation has been accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date. Banks and Beals Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
