Mrs. Hazel P. Link, 93, of Quincy, IL, formerly of LaHarpe, IL passed away Monday, April 8, 2013 at 2:31 AM at the Sunset Home in Quincy.
She was born November 23, 1919 in Henderson County, IL, the daughter of Charles Warner and Sarah Frances Dunham Brewer. On August 1, 1938 she married Eldon "Bugs" Link in Burlington, IA. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2012.
Hazel lived in LaHarpe for many years, moving to Quincy in 1970. Earlier in life she worked as a telephone operator in LaHarpe and as a waitress in LaHarpe and surrounding communities. She worked as a cook at both the Tangerine Bowling Alley and at K-Mart in Quincy. She enjoyed bowling and square dancing.
She is survived by 2 sons, Edwin "Butch" (Madeline) Link of Prairie City, IL and David "Tad" (Connie) Link of Michigan City, IN, 2 daughters, Carolyn "Sue Babe" Link of Flora, IL and Becky Jean (Mike) Holman of Quincy, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and 1 sister, Dorothy Ruth Mesecher of Kahoka, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 grandchildren, 1 step-great-grandson, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 11, 2012 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. Burial will be in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Friends may call after 4:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday. A memorial fund has been established for the Shriners Childrens Hospital or St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
