Linda Kay Nylin, age 61 of Dallas City, Illinois died at 8:45 a.m. Monday March 5, 2012 in the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. She was born May 1, 1950 in Fort Madison, IA, the daughter of Leon and Frildo Chewning Ikerd. On December 22, 1972, she married Charles E. Nylin in Hamilton, IL. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2010.
Linda was a lifelong resident of Dallas City. She was an avid sports fan and especially liked the St. Louis Cardinals.

Survivors include one son- Jason Nylin of Eldridge, IA., one daughter- Jaime Shultz of Smithshire, IL., two stepsons- Charles Nylin Jr of Glenwood, IA., and Robert Nylin of Burlington, IA., six grandchildren, her father of Dallas City, one sister- Shawna Britton of Tomah, WI., and one brother- Jerry Gentry of Dallas City. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother, and one sister-in-law.

The funeral service for Linda Nylin will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday March 8, 2012 in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Rev. Jim Luder officiating. Burial will follow in the Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at Banks & Beals, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial have been established for the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington and Grace Bible Church of Dallas City.
