Linda L. Metcalf, 74, of Blandinsville, Illinois, passed away at 11:26 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024 at her home.

Linda was born October 2, 1950 in Decatur, Illinois, the daughter of Everett and Reatha (Johnston) Jackson. On August 4, 1989 she married David Metcalf in Burlington, Iowa. He survives.

Linda was raised in Macomb, Illinois, and lived a few years in LaHarpe, Illinois, before settling in Blandinsville. She worked for over 20 years with her husband at Metcalf Cabinetry & Construction. Later, she worked as cook at both Memorial Hospital in Carthage and Western Illinois University in Macomb.

Linda enjoyed being outdoors, sewing, gambling and all animals. She attended the Blandinsville Christian Church.

Besides her husband, David, survivors include; one son: Travis (Kassie) Metcalf of Colchester, Illinois; two grandchildren: Reed (Victoria) Sprinkle and Dylan (Jennifer) Streveler; three great-grandchildren: Jace, Wilder and Sarah; two siblings: Roger (Sue) Jackson of Blandinsville and Connie (Delbert) Lankford of Vermont, Illinois and her beloved cat: Oscar.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral service for Mrs. Metcalf will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2024 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Pastor Nate McCarter officiating. Burial will follow in Glade City Cemetery, Blandinsville. The family will receive friends 9:00 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the funeral home.
