Elizabeth A. "Libby" Olson, 72, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away at 2:12a.m. Sunday, June 13, 2021 at the Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois.

She was born June 18, 1948 in LaHarpe, the daughter of Luther and Okle (Campbell) Browning. On March 26, 1976 she married William A. Olson. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1996.

Libby was a 1966 graduate of LaHarpe High School. She worked in the LaHarpe School District cafeteria for 34 years and was Head Cook for many of those years. She was a long time member of the Grace Bible Church in Dallas City. Libby was well known for baking cakes for special occasions. She was a stranger to no one and a friend to all.

Surviving are one daughter, Tita Duvall of LaHarpe, one son Wesley (Heidi) Olson of Greenville, Illinois, one step-daughter, Melissa (Todd) Melton of Windsor, Missouri, six grandchildren, T.J. Melton, TaLyssa Melton, Dash Duvall, Rowan Newlan, Ainsley Olson and Augustus Olson, three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Libby was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one granddaughter, Chloe Duvall, one sister, Carol Boone and one brother, Leon Browning.

Services will be held at 10:30a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the LaHarpe Christian Church with Rev. Larry Van Gundy officiating. Burial will follow in the LaHarpe Cemetery. The family will meet with friends from 5:00 until 7:00p.m. Tuesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe.
