Leta Irene Link

, age 96, of Monmouth, Illinois passed away at 5:25 a.m. Monday May 25, 2015 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth. She was born April 18, 1919 in Marietta, Illinois, the daughter of Floyd and Bessie Orwig Patterson. On August 10, 1935, she married Floyd W. Bill Link in Stronghurst, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1997.

Mrs. Link was a homemaker. She had lived in Woodhull and Viola for several years, and in Monmouth for the past twenty years. She enjoyed camping, wintering in Arizona, and family gatherings.

Survivors include three daughters, Jean Smith of Redding, CA, Zelma Hall of Galesburg, IL, Linda (Ed) Steadman of Aledo, IL, two sons, Bryan (Mary) Link of Andover, IL, James Link of Monmouth, IL, twenty two grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter, Irene Lant, three sisters and one granddaughter.

The graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday May 29, 2015 in the Walnut Grove Cemetery near Media, Illinois. No visitation is planned. A memorial fund has been established for Alzheimers Disease Research. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst is in charge of arrangements.
