Leslie Anne Roberts

Leslie Anne Roberts age 54 of Lomax, Illinois died at 1:35 a.m. Friday February 10, 2012 in the University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. She was born August 4, 1957 in Fort Madison, Iowa, the daughter of Austin M. and Marietta L. Horn Francis. On September 18, 1976, she married Jeff Roberts.

Leslie was a graduate of Dallas City High School. She received her Associates Degree from Robert Morris College in Carthage, Illinois her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and her Masters Degree in Instrumental Technology and Design from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. She was currently employed as a Professional Development Registrar for Great Prairie Area Education Agency in Burlington, where she also taught college level courses.

She had served as Secretary/Treasurer for the Village of Lomax for the last thirty years. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Dallas City, where she also played the organ and piano. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and baking cakes, and loved caring for her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, one daughter- Adrianne (Shane) Worley of Dallas City, two sons- Lukas (Emily) Roberts of Lomax, Cole (Erin) Roberts of Danville, IA., seven grandchildren- Austin, Hayden, Kirsten, Mason and Alexis Roberts, and Allison and Evan Worley, three sisters- Diana (Howard) Shaw of Colusa, IL., Carolyn (Howard) Sutton of Lomax, Sarah (Hugh) Oriano of Burlington, IA., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister- Christie Doran.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City. The funeral for Mrs. Roberts will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday February 13, 2012 in the Dallas City First Christian Church with Will Fowler officiating. Burial will follow in the Carman Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for the Dallas City First Christian Church.
