Leona Marie Young, 71, of Pontoosuc, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois.

Leona was born June 9, 1954 in Carthage, the daughter of Doren L. and Normalee (Seigfried) Young.

Leona was a graduate of Dallas City High School. She was previously employed by Sheaffer Pen in Fort Madison, Keokuk Steel Castings and Decker's Manufacturing. She enjoyed being outdoors; camping, hiking and swimming. She especially loved her many dogs and cats. She was a firm believer in God.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; she had a great love for all of her family.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Roy and Elliott Young.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Dallas City.
