Mrs. Lelia Grace Bennett, 93, of LaHarpe, IL passed away at 7:45 PM Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital in Carthage, IL.

Lelia was born on November 29, 1919 the daughter of Leroy and Oakla Fern Fuller. She married Carl L. Bennett on October 13, 1940. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2001.

Lelia devoted her life to her family and friends. She was an avid reader, enjoyed handiwork and crossword puzzles. She loved baking pies and talking about her great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Barbara Balbinot-Reitz of Burlington, IA, William (Mary) Bennett of LaHarpe, IL and Neil (Jeanne) Bennett of Iowa City, 1 sister, Norma Jean Rouse of Adair, IL, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren.

Lelia was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a brother, Berlen Fuller.

A Celebration of Lelias Life for family and friends will be held at 10:30AM Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Burial will be held in the Webster Cemetery, Webster, IL. No visitation is planned. A memorial fund has been established for the LaHarpe-Davier Health Care Center or the Terre Haute United Methodist Church Building Fund.
