Lane Champion Hardisty, 26, of Bushnell, Illinois, formerly of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, January 26, 2025 in Bushnell, after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer.

Lane was born in Carthage, Illinois, on January 16, 1999 to Dawn (Harris) and Lynn Hardisty.

Surviving is one daughter, Aubrey Lee Marie Hardisty of Fowler, Illinois, his parents, Dawn (Jeff Warner) Harris of Bushnell and Lynn (Nora Luallen) Hardisty of LaHarpe, one brother, Cody (Alivia) Hardisty of Fort Madison, Iowa, one niece, Aislyn Hardisty and one nephew, Atlys Hardisty. Also surviving are his grandparents, Eldon and Nancy Hardisty of LaHarpe, Cathy and David McCloud of Bushnell, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved dogs, Chevy and Nova.

Lane was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Michael Harris and several great-grandparents.

Lane graduated in 2017 from Illini West High School in Carthage. Lane worked at Case in Burlington, Iowa, until he was no longer able to due to cancer.

Lane loved his family and friends and always lived life to the fullest. Lane never left a stone unturned and never let the cancer win, even at the end. To say Lane was a true champion, fighter and warrior is an understatement. He loved to ride and race his dirt bikes, four wheelers and running his drag truck down the strip as fast as it would go. Lane always had the need for speed and I am sure he is speeding in Heaven.

Above all, he loved and cherished his daughter, Aubrey, and cherished his family and friends.

The funeral service for Lane will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the LaHarpe Christian Church with Rev. Jim Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in LaHarpe Cemetery.

A visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.
