Kenneth W. "Kay" McConnell

Mr. Kenneth W. Kay McConnell, 80, of Fountain Green, Illinois passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 6:10 A.M. at the Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb, Illinois.

He was born on October 10, 1930 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the son of Kenneth H. and Gladys L. White McConnell. On January 18, 1981 he married Bevery J. Merry in Monmouth, Illinois. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2003.
Kay attended schools in Fountain Green and LaHarpe and farmed most of his life in the Fountain Green community. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Macomb and Quincy and was a member of the LaHarpe Masonic Lodge for over 50 years.

He is survived by 2 step-daughters, Jan Whitesell of Coeur dAlene, Idaho and Margo McClelland of Hawaii National Park, Hawaii , 1 step-son, John (Amy) McLelland of Volcano, Hawaii and his nieces.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother, Lawrence McConnell and his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 6, 2011 at the McConnell-Geddes Cemetery near Fountain Green. There will be no visitation.
