Mr. Keith C. Fowler, 81, of LaHarpe, Illinois passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the Great River Medical Center, West Burlington, Iowa.

Keith was born on January 16, 1938 near Blandinsville, Illinois the son of William and Gracia Allen Fowler. On February 12, 1961 he married Georgeanna Hast at the LaHarpe United Methodist Church.

He was a 1956 graduate of the Blandinsville High School. Following high school he served in the U.S. Army Reserves. Keith worked as a heavy equipment operator all of his adult life. He first learned to operate a bulldozer while working for Orville Torrance. Keith was then employed by Art Gerdes until he purchased his first bulldozer in 1967, becoming self employed. Keith was still actively operating heavy equipment. Mr. Fowler also farmed all of his life.

Survivors include his wife, Georgeanna; one daughter, Michelle (Jeff) Genck of LaHarpe; one son, Lance (Tamera) Fowler of West Jordan, Utah; five grandchildren, Jordan Genck, Jarren Genck, Lauren (Coulton) Wascher, Elyse Buck and Marcus Fowler; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray Fowler of Abilene, Texas and one sister, Joan Farris of Galesburg, Illinois.

He was preceded in death his parents; two sisters, Ruth Jordan and Mary Lou Renshaw; three brothers, Relly, Ralph and Karl Fowler.

A graveside service will held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2019 at LaHarpe Cemetery with Rev. Lee Unger officiating. A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2019 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. A memorial fund has been established for The Baby Fold or the LaHarpe Ambulance Service.
