Kathleen Rose Bousman, 69, of Lomax, IL passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018 at her home.
She was born September 13, 1948 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Ed and Katherine Markey Symmonds. She married Tim Schaefer on September 12, 1970. They later divorced. On December 29, 1989 she married Roger Bousman in Burlington, IA. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2008.
Kathleen was a 1966 graduate of the Dallas City High School. She worked as an LPN at the former Mercy Hospital in Burlington, the LaHarpe Davier Health Care Center and Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab in Stronghurst.
She enjoyed shopping, collecting elephant figurines, reading, doing puzzles and going to the beach. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and following their sporting events.
She is survived by her companion, Terry Riddell of Lomax, one daughter, Jennifer (Brad) Richardson of LaHarpe, IL, her parents, Ed and Katherine Symmonds of Dallas City, 5 grandchildren, Arica, TJ, Carissa, Brock and Max, 1 great-granddaughter, Kinsley, four sisters, Diane (Byron) Shaw, Rita (Tom) Schaefer and Teresa (John) Pieper all of Dallas City and Nancy (Mike) Gavin of Salem, KY, one brother, Ed (Kathy) Symmonds of Swisher, IA, her sister-in-law, Barb (Don) Jacobson of Clinton, IA and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death her husband, Roger, one son Eric Schaefer, one sister, Beverly Walker and her mother-in-law, Joyce Bousman.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Father Tony Trosley officiating. Burial will be in the Carman Cemetery, Carman, IL. Friends may call after 3:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 until 8:00PM. A memorial fund has been established.
