Karen Sue Rima, age 69, of Biggsville, Illinois, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington. She was born November 30, 1951 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Jack and Irmhal Brewer Gibb. On August 28, 1991, she married Craig Rima in Oquawka, Illinois.

Karen was a 1969 graduate of Union High School and graduated with a Masters Degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb. She taught school for 32 years, first at Tri-Valley in Gladstone, and later at the former Union High School, and current West Central Schools. She also served as principal for 4 years at the high school, and administrator for 4 years at the middle school.

Karen enjoyed gardening, reading, and especially, spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed golfing at the former Hendco Hills golf course and loved going to the casino.

Survivors include her husband, two daughters; Megan (Ned) Adams of Carman, IL, Sara (Ryan) Daniel of Biggsville, IL, four grandchildren; Stephanie (Grant Schrock) Adams, Jackson Adams, Alexis Daniel and Elijah Daniel, one brother; Steve Gibb and one sister; Janet Lindo, both of Biggsville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers; Paul, Gary, Larry, Jackie, and Danny Gibb, and one brother in law; Dr. S.C. Lindo.

Graveside services, for family and friends, will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday September 25, 2021 at the Biggsville Cemetery, Biggsville, Illinois. Rev. Richard Johnson will officiate.  A Celebration of Life will follow from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Mama's Place, 1002 N. 7th Street, Oquawka, Illinois.
