June Cathleen Jones, age 69, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on October 23, 2025 in Vero Beach, FL. June was the second-born of triplets on February 25th, 1956 to parents Frank and Analu Jones.in LaHarpe IL  June grew up on the family farm alongside 9 siblings, and was proud of her heritage.  She loved living in Illinois, and always considered it "Home," but after moving to Vero Beach, Fl in 1980, following sister Jan's lead, Vero Beach became her new Home.

She packed so much life into the short time she was with us.  She chased her dreams, worked in a job she loved, fell in love, mended a broken heart, and marched to the beat of her own drum. Even when faced with challenges, including her battle with cancer, she put one foot in front of the other and carried on.

June lived life to its fullest, and oh, what a wonderful life it was. It was a life filled love- love for family, love for shopping, love for travel, love for her farm- girl work ethic, love for good humor and laughter, and a genuine love for the people who brought her joy. To know June was to love June unconditionally.  Like Frank Sinatra sang, she did it her way, and that was what made June so special.

June married Ron Perranoski , the pitching coach of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1987. They resided in both California, and Florida and spent 17 years together.   During those 17 years, June loved the life she shared with Ron. She was an excellent cook and always entertained guests with grace. The couple traveled extensively together during this time.   June loved spending time with family at the games and enjoyed the friends and acquaintances she made along the way.

June worked in many fields throughout her life, consistently demonstrating a flair for excellence and a passion for her chosen professions.  From the early days in LaHarpe with Bob and Joyce Louden learning how to wait tables at Traveler's Inn Restaurant, to her last working days, June was always busy.   She briefly owned a restaurant but soon decided to listen to her internal compass, focusing on her true passions and skills. This led her to her calling as a health caregiver.  June became a private personal care assistant, which prompted her to obtain her license to enter the healthcare field. She initially worked as a self-employed caregiver and later joined an agency, where she provided exceptional skilled care to patients with dementia and related neurological diseases Her employer for the past eleven years praised June as the glue that held their team together. She helped organize schedules, maintained a positive atmosphere, coordinated special events and birthday parties, and sent thoughtful cards to patients. Her dedication to her work was evident, and she truly made a difference in the lives of those she cared for. She loved her work. June had undoubtedly found her calling, and she will be greatly missed.

Listening to good tunes, ranging from classical to Jimmy Buffett, gardening, cooking, shopping, playing cards, flea marketing, visiting the farm, enjoying sister trips, shopping, hitting the beach, talking to the ocean, watching the night skies, basking in the sun, shopping, …. did we mention shopping…. celebrating holidays, reading, connecting with nieces and nephews…. these were a few of June's favorite things. Although June had no children of her own, she cherished her family of nieces and nephews—17 to be exact, along with about 20 great-nieces and great-nephews. Adding to that were her 8 remaining siblings, who shared their lives and experiences with her. She was truly in heaven! Don't forget that she was a triplet; the special bond she shared with her triplet brother and sister was timeless. They were siblings by chance, but best friends by choice. There is no deeper love. The love for family, just like we sang at Terre Haute Vacation Bible School, is deep, and wide.  "Family is forever," she would say, and June was always right. Rest easy, June Bug.

June was preceded in death by her parents, Analu and Frank Jones of Stronghurst, IL, as well as both sets of grandparents: Frank and Mary Jones and Charles and Elizabeth Painter. Additionally, she was preceded by her oldest sister, Jan Jones-Turner.
She is survived by her 8 siblings, Jay (Cathy) Jones of LaHarpe, IL; Jim (Cindy) Jones of LaHarpe, IL; Triplet Jack (Karen) Jones of Overland Park, KS; Triplet Joy (Scott) Pollock of Colchester, IL; Joel (Debbie) Jones of Vero Beach, FL; Jeff (Shannon) Jones of Hot Springs, AR; Joanna (Larry) Sholl of Carthage, IL; and Julie (Rich) Golinski of Pleasant Hill, CA.  June is also survived by brother-in-law Richard Turner of Vero Beach, FL.  June also cherished her 17 nieces and nephews and 20 great-nieces and nephews.

Following June's wishes, her ashes were immediately scattered in the ocean in a short private family ceremony.  June was a committed Christian, and her faith was a strong foundation in her later life. She knew this world was not her ultimate destination and now is in the presence of his Lord and Savior surrounded by love and absent of sorrow or tears.    A memorial has been set up to benefit June's hometown church, Terre Haute Methodist Church, and the hospice house where she received extraordinary care, VNA Hospice House Foundation in Vero Beach, FL.  Condolences for the family or memorials may be sent to Friends of June, P.O.
