Joyce Eileen Traser, 95, of Punta Gorda, Florida, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Port Charlotte Hospice House.

She was born April 26, 1930 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the daughter of Walter and Mary Olive Wade Boyd. On September 19, 1948 she married Lyell K. Traser in LaHarpe. He preceded her in death on April 30, 2005.

Joyce was a graduate of LaHarpe High School and later worked as a secretary in the hotel industry in Joliet, Illinois. She was a member of the Manhattan, Illinois Methodist Church and the church's Women's Club. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club and The Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and especially loved to fish. She and Lyell spent many winters in the Florida Keys. She moved to Florida permanently in 2010 and was a member of the the Punta Gorda Elks, American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Club.

She is survived by two daughters, Jeri Lou (Gary) Benedict and Janece (Rob Wagener) Bachman and two grandsons, Carlos Traser Benedict (Maegan Riechling) and Jacob Lyell Bachmann (Rachel Rentfro), her twin brother, Jerald (Clara Jean) Boyd and one sister, Carol Allen.

Joyce was preceded in death by one son, Rodney Traser, one daughter, Jeannie Traser, two brothers, Clifford and Glenn Boyd, one sister, Mary Jane Boyd Stevens, her parents and one son-in-law: Marty Bachman.

A private graveside service will be held at the LaHarpe Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Joyce Traser's Church.
