Joyce Marie Spiker, 87, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2026 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.

Joyce was born March 15, 1939 in Bushnell, Illinois, the daughter of Elmer and Allie (Mason) Faler Sr. On December 24, 1960 she married Kenneth Wayne Spiker in Bushnell. He preceded her in death July 8, 2000.

Joyce was raised and educated in Bushnell. In her younger years, she worked as a childcare provider. Following their marriage, Joyce relocated to LaHarpe where she was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, shopping, working puzzles, sending cards, and decorating for the holidays. She also enjoyed cooking, especially cooking for family gatherings; no one ever left hungry. Joyce loved crocheting and passed her skills on to members of the family.

Survivors include one daughter: Rose Spiker of LaHarpe; three sisters: Dora Leasman, Lenora (Ronald) Smith and Betty Lou Wilson all of Bushnell and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother: Elmer Faler Jr.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home.

A private family burial will be held at LaHarpe Cemetery at a later date.
