Eva Marie Johnson

Eva Marie Johnson age 99, of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 8:05 a.m. Wednesday December 15, 2010 in the Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst. She was born November 14, 1911 in Biggsville, Illinois, the daughter of Herman and Alice Burrus Dixon. On May 9, 1932, she married Kenneth F. Johnson in Aledo, Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1992.

Eva was a homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Stronghurst Christian Church and was proud to have served as president of the Loyal Womens Group of the Church for many years.

Survivors include two daughters - Lorraine Peterson and Madge Wheatley, both of Stronghurst, eleven grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren and twelve great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one brother, one sister, and one step great great granddaughter in infancy.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. at the Stronghurst Christian Church. The funeral Mrs. Johnson will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stronghurst Christian Church with Pastor Steve Minkler officiaitng. Burial will be in the Stronghurst Cemetery. Memorials have been established for the Stronghurst Christian Church and Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab. Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst is in charge of arrangements.
