Obituary

John K. Livermore, age 81, of Raritan, Illinois passed away at 7:34 p.m. Wednesday April 11, 2018 at OSF Medical Center in Peoria. He was born December 5, 1936 near Raritan, the son of Ivan and Eleanor Wragg Livermore. On July 26, 1959, he married Beverley Knox.

After graduation from high school, Mr. Livermore served overseas in the United States Navy from 1955 until 1957. He returned home to become the 4 th generation of the Livermore family to farm the family farm near Raritan. He also worked as a mechanic for the former White & White Grain Company, which later became the Twomey Grain Company, from 1976 until his retirement in 2001. After retirement he worked as a mechanic for the school buses for Southern Transportation and West Central Schools. He also provided transportation for special needs students of West Central Schools.

John was a member of the Roseville Masonic Lodge # 519 and the Raritan Reformed Church. He enjoyed camping, working in his shop, spending time with his family, and attending grandchildren's events. He was a fan of Dale Earnhardt racing and the Green Bay Packers football team.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Rhonda (Jay) Blender of Raritan, Roxanne (Charles) Corzatt of Stronghurst, one son John (Melissa) Livermore of Media, seven grandchildren, Channon (Jon) Rider, Crystal (Justin) Rider, Brandy (Tanner) Bigger, Johanna (Ryan) Walker, John (Chelsea) Livermore, Brent Blender, and Jennifer Livermore, seven great grandchildren, Wyatt Rider, Keagan Walker, Josephine Rider, Cora Livermore, Aubrey Bigger, Bronson Walker, and Zoey Rider, and two sisters, Marjorie Claycomb of Winston-Salem, NC, and Ivagene Wheeler of Pekin, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Robin Watson.

The funeral service for Mr. Livermore will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, with Greg McClintock officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Raritan Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be held at 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Banks & Beals, followed by visitation from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the Salvation Army.
