Jerry "Mac" McGaw

Mr. Jerry "Mac" McGaw, 71, of Dallas City, IL passed away at 9:00 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

He was born on June 25, 1942 in Burlington, IA the son of Wayne and Darlene Johnson McGaw. On October 8, 1967 he married Pam Corman in Joy, IL.

Mr. McGaw was a 1960 graduate of Dallas City High School. He served as the mayor of Dallas City for eight years. He was an Iron Worker and a member of the Local #577 in Burlington. Jerry was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He loved Nascar, Hot Rods and attending Car Shows. Mr. McGaw had a heart of gold and would help anyone at anytime.

Survivors include his wife, four daughters, Teri (Dave) Jones of Keokuk, IA, Kim (Cullen) Fuller of Aurora, IL, Angie (Todd) Robertson of Mapleton, IL and Somer (Chris) Cook of Montgomery, IL, seven grandchildren, Leah Smith, Kayla Jones, Mackenzie Fuller, Emmerson Fuller, Alana Robertson, Marissa Robertson and Brody Cook, three great-grandchildren, Chase Smith, Ava Smith and Adilyn Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one great- grandson, Chance Jordan.

Services will be held at 1:00PM Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Dallas City with Twila Peitz, Jody Ellison and Janelle Rettig speaking. Burial will be held at Harris Cemetery near Dallas City. Friends may call after 3:00PM Saturday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00PM. A memorial fund has been established.
