Jerry D. Ferguson, 65, of Carthage, IL passed away at 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 30, 2022 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in West Burlington, IA.

He was born January 8, 1957 in LaHarpe, IL the son of Raymond and Esther Suechting Ferguson. On June 12, 1976 he married Julie R. Lee in Winfield, IA.

Jerry was a 1975 graduate of LaHarpe High School. He then farmed for many years. In 2005 he began his career with the BNSF Railroad, where he was currently employed as a conductor. Jerry enjoyed fishing, mushrooming, traveling and tending his flower garden. He also enjoyed tractor pulls, drag racing and in his younger years, riding dirt bikes. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and following their sporting events. He gave the gift of life by being an Organ Donor.

Surviving are his wife, Julie, one daughter, Jen (Brad) Wagoner of Macomb, IL, one son Jesse (Kayla) Ferguson of LaHarpe, four grandchildren, Zoey, Payton, Dean and Grey Wagoner, two brothers, and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary.
