Jean Shaw Leinbach

, 93 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 5:05 a.m. Saturday June 15, 2013 at Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst. She was born October 13, 1919 in Biggsville, Illinois, the daughter of Francis and Grace Weir Gibb. On September 8, 1939, she married Ernest Edward Leinbach in Burlington, Iowa. He preceded her in death on July 26, 2003.

Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Davison Motor Sales and Stronghurst Ford from 1955 until 2003. She was a member of the Stronghurst American Legion Auxiliary, Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Auxiliary, and the Stronghurst Christian Church.

Survivors include one son - Lynn (Linda) Leinbach of Stronghurst, daughter in law- Judy Leinbach of Davenport, IA., four grandchildren- Timothy, Scott, and Chad Leinbach, Laurie Despot, ten great grandchildren- Trevor, Megan, Mason, Mitchell, Isaac, and Owen Leinbach, and Dylan, Landon, Garrett, and Griffin Despot, and one sister- Winifred Tinkham of Maxwell, IA. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son- Terry Leinbach, one brother and four sisters.

Friends may call as they desire after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Stronghurst Christian Church, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Steve Minkler officiating.
