Janet Elaine Sherman

Janet Elaine Sherman, 65 of Stronghurst, Illinois died at 4:35 p.m. Friday March 16, 2012 at her home. She was born September 11, 1946 in LaHarpe, Illinois, the daughter of Victor and Elsie Kemp Spiker. On September 4, 1964, she married Roger Lee Sherman in Biggsville, IL. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2002.

Mrs Sherman was a 1964 graduate of Stronghurst High School. She was employed for many years at General Electric Company in Burlington. She also was the HawkEye carrier for Stronghurst for many years. She loved her family, the outdoors, gardening and her animals.

Survivors include two sons- Roger Ted Sherman and Timothy Sherman, both of Stronghurst, her mother- Elsie Carhoff of Stronghurst, two brothers- Jerry (Debra) Spiker and James (Rexetta) Spiker, both of Stronghurst, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, father, and step-father - Robert Carhoff.

No visitation is planned. The graveside committal service for Mrs. Sherman will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday March 21, 2012 in the Stronghurst Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
