Obituary

Mr. James Franklin Yetter, 92, of Macomb, IL formerly of LaHarpe, IL passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at Bickford Cottage in Macomb.

Jim was born February 29, 1920 in Webster, IL, the son of James Otis and Mary Reynolds Yetter. On May 7, 1955 he married Georgia Lee Stewart in Pekin, IL.

Mr. Yetter attended grade school in Webster, IL and high school in Fountain Green, IL. He served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sargent during WWII. He was stationed in the Pacific Theater and after seeing combat for 32 days was awarded the Bronze Star. After returning home from war he worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co in Peoria for 30 years, retiring on January 1, 1978. After retiring he moved to LaHarpe where he and his wife built 2 homes. He was a member of the Hilton Masonic Lodge #1143 in East Peoria for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Carthage, IL V.F.W. Post 5117.

He is survived by his wife, 1 sister, Anna Mary Jones of Webster, IL and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Harley Yetter and 2 sisters Olive Hillers and Forrest Fuller.

Masonic Rites will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe where funeral services will follow with Pastor Robert Tillman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00PM Tuesday. Burial with military rites will be at Webster Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, January 14, 2013 from 2:00 until 8:00PM at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe. A memorial has been established for the Harbor Lights Hospice.
