James Rahula Dennett, 40, of LaHarpe, Illinois, passed away at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois.

James was born March 24, 1982 in North Hollywood, California, the son of Mark and Christy (Ramos) Dennett. On August 20, 2012 he married Michelle Frenier in Dallas City, Illinois.

James worked in the food service industry for the past 15 years. He worked for Follow Your Heart Market & Café in Canoga Park, California, Bob's Diner in Burlington, Iowa and most recently at Casey's Convenient Store in LaHarpe.

He enjoyed cooking for the community, friends and family. He was a talented musician, artist and a published poet.

Survivors include his wife: Michelle; two children: Roweena and James Dennett both at home; his parents: Mark and Christy of Medford, Oregon; one sister: Mudita Dennett of Portland, Oregon; his grandmother: Carolyn Ramos; his father-in-law: Wayne Barkley of LaHarpe; his mother-in-law: Cathy Frenier Turnbow and his brother-in-law: Chris Frenier of Burlington.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: James and Nancy Dennett and James Ramos.

As per James' wishes, his body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. His family plans a Celebration of Life at a later date.

A memorial fund has been established for his children's education. Memorials may be left at the Celebration of Life or sent to the James Dennett Memorial Fund, c/o Banks & Beals Funeral Home, P.O. Box 503, LaHarpe, Illinois 61450.
