Mr. Jack K. Myers, 73, of West Burlington, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at his home.

He was born on November 16, 1937 in LaCrosse, Illinois, the son of Glenn Keith and Edith Cook Myers. On December 25, 1955 he married Beverly L. Carnes in LaHarpe.
Mr. Myers attended LaHarpe schools and served in the US Army from 1954 - 1961. He worked for J. I. Case Co. in Burlington for many years, retiring in 1992. He then drove for Ron Wooldridge Trucking for 6 years. Earlier in life Mr. Myers enjoyed trap shooting and riding motorcycles. He was a member of the UAW and the Moose Lodge # 579 in Burlington. He and his wife spent the last 10 years traveling the country in their RV. He was especially fond of his dogs, AJ and Sandy.

Surviving are his wife, 4 daughters, Jackie (Jimmy) Haygood of Fayetteville, NC, Debbie (Charles) Swink, Trina Myers and Shelly (Brian) Fagin all of Burlington, 1 son, Greg Myers of Dubuque, Iowa, 5 grandchildren, Brian Olson, Rich Myers, Rachel Miller (Olson), Brandy Myers and Greg Myers Jr.,10 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, Phyllis (Fred) Bitar of Monmouth, IL, Glenna Grove of Macomb, IL, Janice Smith of LaHarpe, IL and Peggy McClain of Sarasota, FL, 3 brothers, Larry Myers of Abingdon, IL, Ronnie (Janice) Myers of Dallas City, IL and Michael Myers of Monmouth, and a sister-in-law, Shirley Myers of Monmouth.

He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Myers, 1 brother, Gerald Wayne Myers, 1 sister, Pamela Lea Myers, granddaughter, Jennifer Myers, his parents and his grandparents who raised him, Hurle and Gertude Myers.

Family graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at the LaHarpe Cemetery with Chaplain Randy Langner officiating. No visitation will be held. Banks & Beals Funeral Home in LaHarpe is assisting with arrangements. The family invites his friends to join us in a celebration of his life to be held from 3:00 - 5:00 PM Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Moose Lodge in Burlington. A memorial fund has been established for the Moose Lodge # 579 of Burlington or the Des Moines County Animal Shelter.
