Jack McCoy, age 74, of Burlington, Iowa, went to see his Lord and Savior at 12:50p.m.  Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Oak View Nursing Home in Burlington.  He was born January 7,1944 in Cat Corner, Tennessee, the son of Walter and Bessie Lowe McCoy.  On June 9, 1963, he married Judy  Muhlena at the Lomax Church Of The Nazarene.

Jack worked in fabrication at J.I. Case Company in Burlington, retiring after 28 years.  He also was custodian at the Stronghurst Presbyterian Church and the First Church Of The Nazarene in Burlington, for several years.  He was currently a member, and served on the Board  of the First Church Of The Nazarene, where he and his wife received the Distinguished Service Award for their work in the church nursery for 14 years.  Jack was a member of T.O.P.S. organization for 20 years, and in 1995 was honored as "King Of Iowa" for losing over 100 pounds.

Jack enjoyed drinking his coffee, and spending time with his family and friends, including reunions, traveling to Branson, fishing, and attending auctions. He was proud of receiving his G.E.D. diploma from Dallas City High School in 1992.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Judy, two daughters, Teresa (Jim) Shoemate of Burlington, IA, Betsy (Jeff) Anderson of Oskaloosa, IA, one son, Wesley McCoy of Dallas City, IL, three granddaughters, Amanda and Kadee Anderson, Grace Shoemate, two sisters, Peggy Arnold of Stronghurst, IL, Betty (Roger) Miller of Fort Madison, IA, and one brother, Donnie McCoy of Disco, IL.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Billy and Doug McCoy, and two sisters in law, Joyce and Barb McCoy.

The funeral for Mr. McCoy will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday November 21, 2018 in the First Church Of The Nazarene in Burlington with Pastors Jeff Alexander and John Bremer officiating.  Burial will be in the Harris Cemetery in Dallas City, IL.  Visitation will be form 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst.  Memorials hae been established for the First Church of The Nazarene, and Alzheimers Research.
